    Michael Ellis on the KNPV

This was put on another topic but I think it should be in its own thread.
In these clips, which you have to click through to youtube to watch, Mike talks about the program, the reasons for it and the types of dogs used in the program.

Hopefully this can help disspell alot of the missinformation that has been posted in these forums previously.

Re: Michael Ellis on the KNPV

Mike Ellis is a great communicator, and gives a fair and accurate insight into the Dutch KNPV Program. I hope to be able to finally meet up with him later this year, but I honestly think he can offer fantastic insight for people not fortunate enough to be able to spend time in Europe, as he really is just a fantastic communicator and speaker. Good Post, thanks Chris. The KNPV is a great program, capable of producing what I consider to be the very best, most practible dogs in the world. I am bias, as I have spent much time in Holland studying this program, and I am very grateful for it, but I do believe that KNPV can produce a much better all round dog than some other disciplines, and it takes a much bigger commitment from a training point of view to title a dog in KNPV. Apart from the Belgian Ring, I fail to see a better suited program in testing a real life practical dogs, in real life practical situations. The Belgian Ring produces better bites in their dogs, which I personally prefer, but of course each to their own. The ULTIMATE dog in my personal view.... is a KNPV trained dog, with a half Belgian pedigree to ensure full, and fantastic bittng!!! What a dog?!?!
