Thread: Slain dog saves police officers - New Zealand Herald

If I read correctly this is the 9th NZ Police officer to be shot in the line of duty in the last 2 years. NZ police don't carry firearms on their person as a matter of course & their is a real stigma about police being armed there by the public. They have to get over this & recognise that society has changed & police need to be able to play on an even playing field.
