[=Mark;17380][=Robert Santori;17373]Yes I agree it was disgraceful, notice how the handler just casually strolls over.
So lucky it was a mal and not a rottie, could you imagine the flack the rottie people would have copped. lol[/]

To be honest.. I feel the guy did the right thing 'casually' walking over to his dog. If he had have panicked and rushed the dog.. The dog could have done a couple of things:

A: run off believing a negative was coming (avoidance)
B: Think a game had started, and again run off
C: Switch into working mode and chase someone
    D: ?

Even though the handler was at fault for the dog getting loose.. I feel his reaction was the right choice..

We don't even know if it was a 'fully' trained police dog. Could have been a green dog that was being assessed in a real life crowd situation.. or a dog still on basic training... I think we need to becareful about jumping to conclusions without knowing ALL the facts.[/]

With the humour of things aside Mark, I agree with your sentiments and it may have been a green dog and handled the best way under the circumstances. If it was a fully operational dog and handler team, it was a bit of a worry.

    Cheers
    Nev

Agree Mark, casual would be the best approach and i commend them for getting it all under control, the mali got his drive satisfaction, so all good no prob's.....If's and but's do not come into play really, was all over as it begun....
