    John,
I never meant that at all, sorry for not being clear.
I was purely commenting relating to the fact that there is always a reason for the way dogs behave, in reply to Andre's post. I CERTAINLY DID NOT MAKE MY LAST COMMENT IN ANY WAY REGARDING THE POSTED VIDEO. Hey, the dog did well and acted as I would expect a dog to do....a civil grip....it's nice to know that Victoria's innane dog related laws have not permeated the world view!
PLEASE understand...I see nothing wrong with the dog in the DVD.
Despite the very accomplished decoy making some very poor choices that surprise me (I am a Red Star Presa fan from 8yrs ago), there appear to me to be only training issues present in the video post. I personally have no problem with the dog mate. In fact, if it were legal here in Victoria, I think that I could do a great job helping the dog AND the handler achieve much more enjoyment from their relationship via some quality training.
    John, sorry for the confusion.

Nath, I am not sure that Alex willingly posted this clip! I would be very surprised if he did.

He has tons of experience, and I am sure he would be a little sheepish about that being on the net.

If anyone knows anything about his opinion of this clip being on the net I would be keen to hear about it.

    Hi, Brad!

Thank you for kind words in regards to my work. I'm not much on the internet nowadays, but will be happy to answer your questions.
It's a bummer when people do not have a chance to read my comments in regards to this video in question. Here is what I wrote when I posted the link to it from a website of a club in Moscow where I give seminars:

Собачка 16 месяцев. Третий тренинг по защите ИПО. Облай. Начало получаться, и я, расслабившись, попросил Аню бросить поводок. Естественно, «щеня» вцепился в край рукава, а я решил его «подчистить» стеком. Свой же щенок, чего бояться…СЕРЬЕЗНАЯ ОШИБКА фигуранта с собакой ТАКОГО УРОВНЯ! И вот что получилось( слабонервным не смотреть):

I will translate it for you :

" The dog is 16 months old. Third training in IPO hold and bark. The beginning went well, and I underestimated him, and asked handler to drop the leash. Of course "puppy" did a cheap shot at the sleeve and I decided to "clean him up". It's a pup I bred. What to be afraid of , right?.... SERIOUS MISTAKE from the helper with a dog of this caliber!"

So I was proud of the dog I bred and pointed out that what I did was a mistake. And I paid for it.
This type of "cleaning" works well with majority of today's "working" ( read "sporty") Shepherds. Animals of such breeding have no heart. They can do well in sports and win the world championships , but they are not ready for a confrontation with a human.
My dogs are not like that.

Video you mentioned was taked a year ago , when we decided to crosstrain from a suit( video you saw of him at 12-14 months ) to IPO . I know it's usualy other way around , but we russians are stubborn . Next week this dog and his brother goes for IPO -1. Here is video of training this summer of our pups :

As I have no time for internet forums, feel free to post it.
