Timber Shepherd wolf dog at Rockhampton Correctional Service

this is for the new member whitewolf, as you are already in Rockhampton and also interested in wolfdogs, could you please follow up this lead for me?
"Of recent years I have pretrained two Dogs for service in the QLD Police Dog Squad (one is serving in Townsville the other at Cairns), and last Christmas sold a pretrained Timber Shepherd to the Rockhampton Correctional Service. All three dogs are regarded as amongst their finest working dogs. I have more recently been breeding
and developing a style of dog that has been successfully trialed in one of the Army Special Service units. They are proving to be superior in working ability to the working line GSD'S, Belgium Malinois and Dutch Shepherd's."

That was a quote from Ross Allan, a RAAF dog trainer in the March/April 2010 issue of companion dog magazine, thus christmas 2009 Rockhampton Correctional Service QLD recieved a fully trained WOLFDOG. I really really wanna see this dog, does anyone know Ross Allan the trainer or have heard of this, and whitewolf as you are already in Rockhampton can you call up/ visit the correctional service to see if this dog exists? Also might the style of dog he is talking about creating be a wolfdog?? does anyone/has anyone heard about or know about this???

I highly doubt the story, I put this up in a previous post but I will re post it:

Under the legislation of Department of the Environment and Heritage domestic/non-domestic animal hybrids eg bengal cats or wolf crosses are not eligible for import, unless they are proven to be 5th generation or more away from any pure-bred non-domestic ancestor. Please contact Wildlife Permits and Enforcement Section, The Australian Government Department of Environment and Heritage on 02 6274 1111 for further information.

I fail to see a valid reason to cross breed a wolf with a German Shepherd, if you want a dog capable of service work how about you purchase one of the many breeds or cross breed dogs that have been bred and used for the past 1 hundred plus years for this particular role rather than waist your time, effort and money on a breed purely created for marketing hype.

also Ross has three timber shepherds, he said he'll send me pics of them. Also turns out RAAF base in Amberley has them as well, see

    page 2
"“The latest litter is part Timber
Shepherd, part Malinois – the desired
outcome was size and aggression of
the shepherd and the tracking ability of
    the Malinois."
    DAlco has them

Well there you go...I would still like to know what percentage is wolf seeing as current legislation states wolf crosses are not eligible for import in to Australia unless the wolf is 5 generations back or more. Each to there own though, if Government Departments or the general public are happy using these hybrid dogs / wolves / genetically modified super service dogs, good luck to them...
