    Lightbulb Microchips

I wasnt sure were to put this, so i guess here would be the most appropriate place.

If you r microchip qualified then here is a site you may like...

OzMicrochips.com.au - Online supplier of Animal Companion Microchips for cats & dogs

They are an online store selling microchips at a very reasonable price.

    Hi Black Dog,

Thanks for that, though when I got a pup from Vic yrs ago,
the chip didn't work to our scanners so I had to get her done again.
I was told by the vet that there are a couple of scanners but they don't stock them all..
Just something to keep in mind. Try buying 1 to try then look into bulk.

Yes when they first brought out the microchip they required a different kind of scanner.
Now the mircochips has to conform to the ISO standards, there r about 3 microchips that can all be read by 1 scanner.
They realised this mistake AFTER producing them...

Thought this might be handy for breeders, as we all no the cost of having it done at the vets. Most vets should charge u full price for the 1st and at a discounted rate for each one after that, well the clinic i worked at use to.

I know in QLD they are in the process of microchipping laws, its is becoming compulsory now.

Some tafes offer microchipping courses and is well worth doing if you are a breeder, or work with rescue groups of are a volunteer.

At a vet clinic to get chipped its roughly $20, you do the math. Plus they have a pretty long shelf life as well. One less traumatic thing to have done at a vet clinic...
