Are those the ones where he teamed up with Leerburg/Ed?
If so... I wouldn't get them. I own 11 Leerburg DVDs and I regret buying them. Only two of them I considered worth the money, both of the drive ones. The rest are rubbish and I learnt almost nothing from them.
from what i have see even know its through leerburg micheal ellis has put a lot of work into the dvd he is a well respected trainer in the us and is sort after for his suit work as well as his training of dogs and decoys
so i wouldnt count him out to quickly

Ahhh, so Ed just produced them?
If anyone gets them let me know how they find them. I won't buy them if any money goes into Leerburg but one day he might produce some independently.
What do you have against Ed Frawley just out of curiosity?
Cheers

1) He abuses dogs in order to train them. I've quoted, from his site, him saying that he cured fence aggression in a dog by hitting it over the head with a shovel (I can grab it again, it's on his site). This one might be controversial... But I consider hitting your dog with a shovel on the head as abuse.
2) His DVDs are terrible. He constantly contradicts himself. He displays poor training in his DVDs. The one that stands out was when he was going on about how we must ensure our dogs comply. He tells the dog to "sit" and the dog drops and he says "that's okay, he's not a working dog anyway". Stuff like this tells the viewer that it's okay if your dog disobeys you. He makes mistakes and does not correct himself.
I can pinpoint multiple mistakes in every one of his DVDs, not small mistakes either. Mistakes large enough to cause major problems. Like I said, the only good DVDs of his that I've seen are the two drive ones where he doesnt actually appear in them.
3) I consider his method of using the e-collar cruel. He uses levels high enough to force the dog to yelp in pain. He gets the level the dog can feel it at and shows physical signs and then goes up one.
In the e-collar DVD he "stems" (he means stim but he doesn't bother spelling correctly on DVDs we pay a lot of money for) his dogs, at high levels, for no other reason than to demonstrate the response. When I teach people to use the e-collar I NEVER give the dog a stimulation unless it is warranted ESPECIALLY when using it as a positive punishment tool like Ed does. If I need to demonstrate then I'll perform some obedience and wait for the dog to disobey to demonstrate... I don't just shock my dog for the hell of it.
4) Same with the prong. He delivers corrections at such a high intensity that I would say it's highly likely his dogs have suffered physical injury from the corrections.
5) He is not open to discussion about his techniques. You either agree, or you are not a dog trainer (according to him).
Firstly I should clarify, I accidently posted under the wrong account. I actually asked that question. Thanks for that detailed response.
I have seen the shovel comment b4. I don't agree with it either.
People can be too hard on dogs, but at the same time some are too soft.
Anyway I wont take this off topic was just curious about the Leerburg thing.

I'd love to see his videos, they're just a bit too expensive for me.
I wouldn't mind paying for them, but I'd like to preview whats on them first as well, I don't want to pay for 'x' and find out it doesn't have 'y' or means nothing to me.
But, otherwise I think the way Michael trains dogs is unreal!
Just on the Frawley vids - I too have purchased some of his "old" rottweiler meisterschaft and korung videos - in one of them there is a break in the recording and the next scene he is apologising for running out battery - you'd think he'd edit it somehow - the guy is a tool!!
