Good post Jess.. I use most of them... all depends on the dog and owner, and the issues.

My own dog I usually use a "fur saver" chain, which I lock so as not to act like a correction chain.

I don't however use harnesses for obedience or halters/halties, etc.

damn forgot fur savers, how could i forget them.
NO for any form of equipment that goes around their nose ie halters/halties gentle leaders. i dont care what their called, i really dont like them. but im not going to get into a debate as to why cant be bothered right now.
    Cheers, Jess

I use martingale, check chain or prong, depending on where I am going, what I am doing, level of distraction, which dog, and I guess my mood lol.

I use a Remote Collar. Nothing else compares, especially off leash and around distractions.

I agree 100%..but we don't have the freedom to use them in SA as you do in QLD.. Not saying that I don't use mine

    Hey Mark,

You told us what the law is in Vic regarding e collars, but what is it in the other states?

    Cheers

I am not sure all the states laws>

    QLD - Totally legal
SA - Legal to own, purchase and sell. Illegal to use on your dog! However there has NEVER been a prosecution for using an e-collar in SA.
Vic - Legal under Veterinary and qualified trainer advise/supervision
    NSW - I think, illegal

The rest I am not sure.
