Yep VX boot is not tall enough nor wide enough, however if you can fold the backseat down, a crate will fit just. I did it with a 42 inch crate but it's a challenge.

The crates on wheels are a good idea lol, doggy trailer......

    Re: plastic crates

I was considering getting custom made cages in my wagon, I think my boot space is a touch bigger than a VX.

But I was going to have the back seats permanently folded down, a false floor created to make the entire thing perfectly flat with a big drawer (two) I could pull out with my training gear in then split the cage length ways so one dog goes in the back and one in the front with the front dog being able to enter/exit via the rear doors.

    Don't have the cash tho.

I saw these crates in US, relative cheap and can fit 2 crates side-by-side in a SUV. The height fits a malinois as well, at least for transport. I cannot find them in NZ, maybe you can find it in Australia. Let me know.... I am interested to get a couple in the near future.

    Re: plastic crates

Nathan you won't get standard crates side by side in a VX. I would strongly suggest getting some fitted gates to your car. Something like Puppy Bars in Victoria. They are aren't cheap but they do utilise the full wagon section and are finished very very well. They are the best that I have seen. They are easy to remove should the need arise. Once you have them you will be very happy, I know I am.
