"If you want a good dog there is no 100% guarantee no matter what you buy, but if the parents, and grand parents and grate grant parents display the characteristics that you desire on both sides of the equation."

The above section of Adam's post sums it up for me. No matter the breed nothing is guaranteed.....do your research and find the suitable animal to fit your purpose.

Registered or not, paper is only paper and has been typed on by man. When man is involved nothing is certain!

I am sick to death of these discussions, a good dog is just that...accept it and move on.

    Hi George

Ha ha ha ha ha YOU TO well that makes me feel better as i thought i was the only one.

Nothing uncommon George it depends of who where and what you are buying.

Like in the GSD history very common from the 1940's and on to get one with a pedigree married up to a dog.

Like I said do your research and find out who is selling what are they selling and where from (which Country) some are more prone then others this should not reflect badly on all breeders it is just the shanty ones that will do anything for few extra dollars.

No country and breed is immune to it. It is just up to the buyer to do the research and not buy a GSD that looks like a bitsa with papers.

Do your research and ask a lot of questions from the local clubs and dog owners.

I bet if you really look NOT so hard you can find the same practices here in Australia, save your self a plane ticket.

    Agree with Delkerabo.

    VIPSS,

Those who have larger Mal/dutchie type dogs from KNPV lines as I have seen it are not passing their dogs off as the ideal mal as per the standard ? rather that they are crossbreeds bred for that sport and what they prefer.

If someone was saying their 55kg Mal was ideal in standard weight/size I would have to agree they have moved away from the original creation of a medium size, agile dog.

    Hi kateshep

If you read the previous posts That is exactly what they are doing.

They are not saying that they are selling CROSS bred dogs.
They are saying that their mals and dutchies are better cos they are bigger stronger and they are also saying IT IS A DIFFERENT STRAIN.

If you look at the latest PRO SPORT STATS it was won by a pure bread registered mal ( that apparently as a young dog took out a conformation show as well) saying that he is not a show dog he is 100% working registered lines.

He is a very nice tough and dominant dog that not just anyone can handle, he has very strong nerves as well so what more can any one wish for.

Another registered MAl that was there hits like a train with full grip and dominance.

Both have very strong nerves and don't step back for any one that comes to have a fight.

Vendos dutchie FCI registered once again won his patrol class beat all the other dogs there that came to compete in the patrol class.

as for the cross bread unregistered dogs I don't care what they are just don't call them mals or dutchies call them something else. if mongrels is to strong of a word, make up a name of some breed and call them that.

As far as i am concern there is room for all dogs registered and unregistered pure bread and mongrels, it is up to personal preference. I have friends that will never buy a pure bread dog they prefer A MONGREL.

but I just wish that people could just call a spade a spade and if they are breeding crosses call it that IT IS A CROSS BREED DOG, that is why it is bigger and it has a bigger head. I don't think that at the same time they should PUT DOWN the registered dog as something inferior just because they want to make a dollar.

It they want to use the discredit type tactics maybe they should join the politics.

    Re: Fake pedigrees in Malinois

Seems like this subject is going to go on forever. I don't know how many times a person has to say the same thing over and over to get their point across.

Just be happy we have good working dogs... registered or non registered, Mal or whatever... People can see what they are buying, and if they want a large Mal good luck to them.. Remember 99% of all breeds are x-bred with a piece of paper. Who cares what we call them. Who cares if they have a piece of paper or not. From my understanding a piece of paper from most countries guarantee's nothing! Just because a dog fits the standard and has a pedigree is no guarantee your dog is who or what it is suposed to be.

I think it's probably time to close this thread if nothing constructive can come from it.

I agree lets close this subject and put it to rest.

It is the same thing over and over again.

what ever any one buys they have to live with it and if it suits them thats their peronal choise.

Fair enough I am not going to read through all that again I remember asking if other breeds were added to the KNPV gene pool and no one denied anything. The bickering on BOTH sides did not do those any favor.

Just be happy we have good working dogs... registered or non registered, Mal or whatever...

    Hi Keteshep

Yes all breeds and all types of dogs have been added to KNPV gene pool.

Within the KNPV unregistered dogs you can breed anything to anything what ever takes your fancy.

These dogs are usualy unregistered that is why there is a wide veriety of shapes and sizes, and colours.

I hope this answeres your question.

Yes and it only applies to Malinois's having a fake pedigree.
It's because only Malinois breeders are liars!
    Please excuse the sarcasm.....NOT!
