    22-9-2008 Farewell My Jack

    VALE MY JACK.
My friend, my companion and my protector.
    With love your Dad,
Your friend, your companion and your protector.

For nearly 11 yrs, you have blessed us with your love, devotion and your sense of humor.
What a good natured pup you turned out to be.
Your strength had to be felt to be believed. Your love even more so.
So strong and determined in our protection.
Yet so gentle and caring, to those you loved.
The wettest kisses ever given. The biggest hugs as well.
The empty place that you leave in our hearts, is far too large to fill.
You will be sadly missed and fondly remembered.
In training you, you have taught me much.
Dad’s big, good good man. Mum’s big, pretty boy.
    Our Handsome Jack.
The thunder in the morning may have been the God’s calling your name. Still you waited for me.
I could not bear to see you unable to stand. Such a proud and strong man. I had to let you go.
As I prepared the earth to receive your body, the skies above began to cry. I joined in.
My love to you, my old friend.
You have family awaiting you in heaven.
You have family missing you on earth.
    Best and Endless love,
    Dad

    Jeff my sincerest condolences,
everyone should know that relationship you had from the big fella. There would be a lot more respect given to the true dogs of this world if people could feel what it is to have a "Jack" stand beside you and for you. My best friend ever was a big hound also called "Jack" who l laid to rest under an elm tree some quarter of a century ago and l still think of the times we shared with a joy in my heart.
Your big mate sure had that look of being a stout and honest individual,
    regards Tony

    Hi Tony,
Thank you for your kind words.
He touched quite a few people around him. We did have a very special bond. He taught me a hell of a lot and will be in my thoughts for as long as I have thoughts. I have been lucky enough to have had a few special dog's over the years. I hope that I will find another “special” one someday. Not looking for awhile but know it will come. I still have good old Rosie.
Jack seemed to think differently to any dog I have shared time with. He was a challenge and a absolute pleasure.
I am a lucky man. At the moment a sad but lucky man.
    Cheers

My deepest condolences to you, Gail and Rosey.

I too will miss the big bugger. The way he greeted me at the front door when I popped in for coffee. The way he demanded my attention when I sat down on your couch. Then in his own way would say, "Mark's here, it pigs ear time". Such a very special friend that will be sadly missed by all that had the pleasure of knowing "Jack".

It's times like this that we reflect on how special our canine friends really are.

I am so sorry mate.... I know how much he meant to you, Gail, and of course Rosey.

    See you soon.

    Mark

    Thanks Mark,
The place is bloody quiet with him gone. Rosie will bark at the door etc. But as you know Jack made his presents known at all times.
The pigs ears should last well now Rosie seems to be less interested now he is not pushing for one all the time.
Gail has had a shocking year with family deaths First her Brother with cancer then two Aunties and a Uncle. Poor old girl is sick or crying.
Rose has checked every park we have been to for her old mate.
    I'm doing ok.
Well at least Bossco will be allowed in the yard again when you need a coffee!
Thanks for the kind words for the old boy.
    Cheers mate.

Very sorry for your loss. The only consolation is the treasured memories of the good times you've shared which are irreplaceable.

    Dearest Jeff,
i am so sorry to hear about your loss.

he sounds like he was a HUGE part in your life and there are NEVER words that can ease the pain OR express the emptiness that bestowes us BUT i do wish you and your family all the comfort and love and support.and may with time that hole slowly be eased but i know it can never be filled.
May you see him one day again and may his memories forever live with you

best of love and luck to your family!
    Maxx
