    Re: Ears

I know this is an old thread but thought I would post my experience as it may be helpful to others. What I was told and have used and found useful is DR Scholls footpad. It is a foam type inner sole for shoes that you can generally buy at most pharmacies. You cut it to the shape of the inside of the dogs ear.I used skin cement to glue it in as thats what I was told and it works very well.It is what they use to seal wounds from infection and to seal colostomy bags in place. It is basically liquid latex so you could probaly find similar at a number of places.I had trouble getting it from a pharamcy and they had to order it from interstate for me.It works well and doesnt wear of easily but when the foam is pulled off it peels off the skin easily.I have used this method on dogs with cropped ears when you could still get away with it but it will work on any pup that has naturaly standing ears providng while the cartilage is not yet strong enough providing it hasnt been broken. Also tape across under the chin and over the dogs hed in a figure 8 to hold them up and in place.
Have heard show breeders using supre glue and other things and all this does when it wears off is take the hair off leaving a bald patch that never grows hair again.
