Sorry I didn't read wat u wanted b4 my post. Von forell just had litter with reza x sargus both dogs I've seen. reza awesome drives and best conformation I've seen on a bitch. Sargus is an aero son also an exceptional looking dog. May b too much but only time will tell.... But I'm guessing big bone high drive dogs definitely worth a look if your in the market!

My working line dog (Mindfreak Bronson) was bred by Mindfreak Kennels in Victoria a Fax vom Grenzganger grandson out of Yultzen Rebecca and Von Forell Erger, line bred 2-4 on Fax. I can't speak highly enough of George from Mindfreak, he's real old school type ethics, straight down the line, no stunts with great support, even got the papers when we picked up our pup. The raising of the litter was great, excellent food, conditions and early training we were most impressed at the way Mindfreak look after their dogs and pups, and knowing a little about their breeding program, I expect some very nice working GSD's coming from them in the future.

She told me the prefix but atm with a baby my memory is pretty bad lol but when I looked it up from your post I remembered that was what it was! Will keep that in mind if I ever decide to wade into GSD again.

    Hi Lia !!

Yes, that would the Monsimbee lady! She has showline dogs too but always brings a working one along just to demonstrate solidarity (for better or for worse ) I am with Jess on this one. I really love the the Raennik and Monsimbee lines. I have a Quote (imp Ger) and Raennik Aiko pup and he is super!! Very calm, easy to live with but with seriousness when required! I also love the Alpinebase dogs.

Awesome! She seemed really nice and is not far from me. It is going to be a trek to see a breeder I really like the looks of for my next Kelpie - they are 6 hrs away!

I love the Alpinebase dogs but I am not involved in working them other than obedience and tracking. My three will work their hearts out and are always ready to go. The girls are more work in that they have higher energy (one is by Gunnar out of an Alpinebase bitch) but they want to be involved in everything you do. I have found all of them extremely handler focussed.

I saw Baron a month or so ago and was very impressed with him. I just loved his temperament - calm and pleasant around people but I know that he will also switch on when required. I believe these dogs have a lot going for them but again, I am not in a position to be able to demonstrate my dogs talents to their full capacity because I don't have that kind of support or knowledge. FWIW Vic Pol use mainly Alpinebase breeding in their program.

    Cheers

Karen is trying hard to bridge the gap between working line and show dogs - as she says, 'she wants to do her bit'! I have really liked the dogs she produces and she works closely with Raennik. She would also be fabulous support so close to you! Her working lines go back to Nordenstamm with help from Raennik and now her imported girl.

    Tempted??

Tempted for if I consider a GSD at some point in the future lol (when I feel like tackling all the hair again! and decide to do obedience). Next dog is going to be a Kelpie as agility is my main sport and they are more suitable for agility ( and they are just awesome dogs lol). Since I think I can resist everyone telling me I MUST get a BC to be competitive .

So sounds like the alpinebase dogs are really high energy and ready to go all the time and i love that.My female(satoris yangoxpaskarlas kolby) is just like that super energy always trying to do something even making her self games to do i just love the energy and the strong drives and she loves other dogs too and is good with kids

So im looking for the same again and after a lot of thought im probably after more of a sport type dog with thick nerve and extreme drive.I have kids so a really serious civil dominant dog worries me

I was concerned about serious civil drive in our boy from his dad Vonforell Erger, but he is actually fine although extremely dominant and serious, he has a high threshhold to loosing his cool. He doesn't like harsh training methods, prongs and Ecollars or I wouldn't try and alpha roll him, but he's hard and stable in the sense with kids and play, he doesn't snap into defence drive if you accidently tread on his foot or pull his tail or ears, he doesn't care, neither is he reactive in a passive environment, he doesn't get worked up to new experiences, he's aloof like you can't befriend him easily, I don't let strangers pat him and he will growl long before he reacts if he's not happy with a situation, but as a family pet, he's great and doesn't have any spooky tendencies whatsoever. He's the most stable and trustworthy dog I have owned in that respect, I think the hardness in nerve creates the stability. My showline dog is short on nerve and can get snappy and defensive suddenly, you can see it in his eyes he starting to spook, my working dog is the complete opposite, like he has confidence in the situation, he's on top of it with no need to panic if that makes sense?

You get working critiques on different dogs in terms of aggression and before getting our pup I am thinking ok he's a Fax grandson to Erger on the sire side, then grandson to Yultzen Adulf on the dam side, there is Dolf, Vocho and Pamela in there too, the litter has nearly all the dogs renowned for strong civil and fighting drive in the pedigree and I am thinking is a "land shark" in the making here?, but working critique has a different meaning to what the average person interprets from aggression drives, although I can see his drives and activate them, he's totally rock solid, nothing like I imagined.

He can posture a bit with other dogs and likes to be the boss, but once another dog submits to him he plays well with other dogs and is not dog aggressive in the slightest and only reacts if another dog wants to fight him or assume dominance. I wouldn't take him to a dog park to be in a position that another dog wanted to fight him as I am sure he would oblige in the offer for a scrap, but he generally doesn't care much for other dogs and pretty well ignores them.

He's only 21 months old and hasn't been trained in any civil work, only equipment trained in prey so far, so his lifestyle is not about aggression and biting people and has been focused around obedience and drive training and he works like he's done it before in a previous life, amazing how a dedicated working dog trains compared with just a dog and could never again own just a dog, massive difference.
