Regal German Shepherds
Hi all, I've just joined the forum today after reading some interesting threads on GSDs and working lines. From what I can see there are some very knowledgable members here, particularly in the Victorian bred lines which was exactly what I was looking for.
A bit about me first, I used to live in Victoria and purchased my first GSD randomly out of the Trading Post (bad I know, but that's all I knew at the time). She was (and still is) a beautiful dog with a very loyal nature. Filled with enthusiasm with my new dog I joined a training school called Australian Dog Training which operated out of the Melbourne Showgrounds during a weeknight, and I think it was Bundoora oval (or similar) on the weekend.
After a year or so of this, I came to see some magnificent german shepherds that were primarily from a breeder Neville Williams. I decided it was time to get my girl a male companion and started enquiring about getting one of his dogs. After quite a wait, I got word of a litter coming up in the Eastern suburbs (can't remember exactly where) from a sire named Boss and a bitch named Yumaya (spelling most likely wrong on my part). Both parents were solid black. The owner was a man named Arthur (I think this was his first name, not surname) my memory is very poor sorry.
We were luckily the first to view the litter, apparently the father was from another male also called Boss which was apparently a good working dog from Neville and Von Keiserhoff. We picked (in my eyes) the pick of the litter, a shiny black male who appeared the most dominant. I named him Vader after my geeky love of Star Wars.
Long story short, I trained him at ADT for a few more years, we did some early protection and sleeve work which he loved.
TIme moved on, I moved to WA and lost all contact with ADT and protection work. Vader is a fantastic dog and at nearly 10 he is still amazing powerful and agile, however my poor bitch is getting on so I shall soon be looking for another dog.
I'm now just after some information on the parents of my dogs (Boss and Yumaya), or if anyone knows Arthur (doubtful but worth a try) or just more information on Von Kaiserhoff and Nev.
Anyway, thanks for reading and I look forward to any responses.
Regards,
Ben.

mine had to be put to sleep on his second birthday due to his severe HD/ED. Took me almost 12 months to get him out of the woeful condition he first arrived in anyway. At least he had a nice temperament.
Julie was yours a Von Kaiserhoff shepherd?
Regardless what a horrible thing to have to do at 2yrs![]()
he was bred by Neville. And this is what condition he was in when he was sent out on security patrol.
this is what he looked like after being fed up for a week with my old man. 26 stitches in his stomach since the retained testicle was buried so deep in his abdomen it took them an hour to find. His hips and elbows were totally screwed, when we went on our last walk together one hip fell out of the socket so I had to almost carry him home. It's mildly traumatising.
You're probably the first person I know of to say nice things about that man.
Wow, that is a horrific story - I'm so sorry to hear it. The only dogs from Neville that I have known (apart from mine) were all fantastic working animals - the very reason I got mine in the first place. My boy is now 10 and luckily is still in the physical shape of a 5yr old dog. Again, the reason I'm looking for another dog from these lines.
Regardless what a horribe outcome for you.
remember genetics has some part of it but how you raise and look after an animal too can make a massive difference. You can have the best genetics in the world and still get an average dogYou must be doing something right for sure!
Regal Haus would be the people to start with.
