    Am bulldog vs gsd??

Is there anyone in aus that breeds hard American bulldogs?? Can they Compete really with a shep or is it just a freak hard thing to get? Ive got both and my gsd shits on the bulldog in every way but he is a pet...I had a female bulldog from well known working bulldogs but she was just a nervous wreck. As she matured she ended up that dog aggressive I had to get rid of her as my male was goin to kill her with the three dogs that hated each other thought she would b better somewhere else! I love the breed just would like to know other options on them. If it worth spending time on 1 or just stick to proven gsd bloodlines?

Hi, personally i would not want a American Bulldog as a working dog, i do not believe they have what it takes, you might be able to find a good one however it will be rather hard in my opinion, just stick to your shepherd.

no but I have a Dogue de Bordeaux that wipes the floor with a few dogs out there. Saying that hitting on him is like a one in a few hundred chance ... not really made for it but he was the one that broke the mold. But if you want a sure thing then go see the parents and have someone help you choose a pup.

Depends what you are wanting to do with the dog, if you are after a security dog you will be extremely limited in where you will be able to work. I have trained a few impressive american bulldogs.

I know a couple of them were bred at a puppy farm and boarding kennels situated here in NSW. They breed American Bulldogs, Cane Corso, Dogue De Bordeaux and a few more breeds which are guaranteed to rake in money...

Have a look at oak park bulldogs, Steve is also a member here but has not been on much recently. About Us - OAK PARK AMERICAN BULLDOG KENNELS

A dog from a mastiff breed can be very strong and a great deterrent, but their trainability level does not come close to that of a Malinois or a German Shepherd. Therefore, they are limited in what they can be used for in terms of protection.

You also have to remember Ivan sells malinois for $40,000 plus so you could say he has a vested interest.
