i dont have a problem with line breeding i have a HUGE problem with very close inbreeding, i would dread to think a GSD breeder would do this close a breeding like this lab breeder did, due to the amount of heridary problems shepherds have, maybe i am wrong, but there isnt good enough or sound enough lines maybe i should say in australasia to inbreed so close,

I don't believe in close inbreeding at all in pedigree animals, and line breeding only when desired traits can't be found else where.

Applying general breeding rules used by farmers who need results quickly for efficency and productivity has radicaly changed the way I see the breeding of "companion" animals, especialy where working ability is concerned.

Inbreeding to fix traits in a dog is usefull ,if those traits are unique to create a new line (or breed) able to make a valuable contrubution.

Linebreeding I see as useful to reinforce traits that are weakening, but only if both parents have those traits that are complementary, and they are unique to that line.

I think both are way overdone in most pedigree breeds and for the wrong reasons.
