    Hazko,
this is just my opinion, but the bulldogs I have seen and worked ,and I have worked several are a bit dopey and very lazy .
Not many that I have seen have been much chop at working.
They are a bit like the pitty useless for man work , but the one in a million is fabulous at it.
The Bandog I cannot comment on .
I was not trying to hide anything in speaking to you privately, I just understood from your post that you wanted to see my dogs .

    regards

    Rob

    [=Hazko;16593]yeah dog aggresion ....

alright mate umm im not sure how 2 pm you , so yeah how bout you msg me n ill reply =) thanks

but if you could answer on here , so others can comment to , why a rotty and not a bandog or am.bulldog ??[/]

    Hi Hazko,

There are probably are other breeds that can work in a protection role if you get the right individual dog, but seriously, the wheel doesn't need to be re-invented and the professional use of protection dogs determines the breed used that work best. GSD, Rottweiler, Belgian Malinois, Dobermann and Dutch Shepherd. Maremma sheep dogs, Pitbulls, Kuvasz various Mastiff's, Akita's etc can all put on a show and take a bite and if they were a better package than the top 5, the professionals would use them and they don't is the way I look at protection breeds for what it's worth.

    Cheers
    Nev

    Hi Rob,

You beat me to the Bulldog/Pitbull experience.............the amount of times I have seen people buy dogs like this for protection, I seriously shake my head. I have even had people impressed with my GSD's working ability and would like a dog like mine then buy a Pitbull thinking it will be better???. Little do they know a Rotty has the highest jaw pressure statistically lol!!!.

    Cheers

    Hi Nev,
most are just young and know it all , and are very impressionable, especially by all these cowboy breeds.
I guess they just don't do enough research and just look at the traits they want.
I know I would rather get bitten by a good mali and not a good rottie.

    regards

    Rob

i guess yeah true why dont the authoritys use these breeds , maybe because of size , is a big dog to much to carry around in a police vehicle? are they generally too dog aggresive? or is it just a lack of breeders breeding dogs to be available to police?

i dunoo , but end of the day im not a cop and the police dont need dogs that can possible kill a man if need be, just take them down an the police arrest them ,

to monica , i know very well what a bandog and bulldog are lol....we dont need to go into that at all.

heres an interview from a bandog breeder that used to breed rottys ..

Dr. P's Dog Training: Bandogs and Dogos

the main answer people into these "alternative " gaurd breeds give as to why bother could be summed up here :
Greys Holt Kennels :: The worlds oldest pedigree of Jack Russell terriers and the most developed liniage of legal Bandogs in the U.K.

robert , i didnt mean you have anything to hide buddy, just this question i wanted others input ....

I will sound like a broken record, but how about lack of consistency.
