Husky X as a patrol dog? I doubt it. But what do I know.

One of the best guard dogs in the world could be a unique breed of pooch especially created for the role, it has been reported.
A mix between Belgian Malinois and Siberian Husky has led to a yet-unnamed female puppy expected to excel in all the traits that make a canine adapted to police and military service, according to the UK Press Association.
It is also the first time the mating has been successful.
DK9 Security Services in Britain was the first breeder to bring the hybrid into the world.
Co-owner of the firm Darren Debenham said: "We believe this is the only one in the world and we hope now we can create a bigger and better breed."
He went on to explain that the mix would provide the stamina of the husky with the speed and bulk of the Malinois.
They have decided to call it a Huskinois.

That is what they hope for, considering most pups don't live past a couple of hours, might make great feet warmers too,lol

Suff it it works or not , well lets face it - it will not. What I want to know is how you make the news for creating a mut.
I mean two doors down from me they have a had a litter of pups from a ridgeback mother and a Staffi father. And she was a tall bitch too. Now thats news. LOL

Why would it be so hard to breed these two together? I am sure it would have been done before as both are fairly common breeds?
I think they must be very hard up for head lines in the UK

This may be one of the stupidest crosses I have heard of.
Why take a breed prone to thin nerve and exceedingly high excitability, and cross it to a breed with low trainability and common issues with sensitivity and lack of guarding instinct?
They may prove me wrong but I cannot see any purpose to these dogs besides perhaps cute puppies.
In the words of Michael Caton - "tell em they're dream'n".
Surly they could have come up with a better combination to at least try and improve on a dogs guarding or protection ability.
No idea how that could make the news - but he got more than his 15 mins of fame, all other xbred breeders get nothing.
What a bold (or stupid) statement to suggest the best working dogs when all other attempts have been pups that died within hours. Either there is something seriously wrong with xing the 2 breeds or his animal husbandry skills really suck.
