Kavik , why dont you describe as much about the Mal you would like as you can, and maybe the boys could indicate the breeder or dogs that would fit the bill

OK here we go, what I am looking for (what I know at the moment . . . )

    High prey drive
    Biddable/eager to please/wants to work
Small - med side of the size scale
Most likely would give ScH a go, and agility
    Good nerves/stable
    Social
Not a dog they would want for high end military etc, I don't want or need a dog that is that hard

    Hi Kavik

The traits that you have described im my opinion sound typical of the sport breeding in this country, there are a few kennels you could try, Danny's, Kollensburgs and Hondenaus (however I dont know how often they breed).

These breeders I am sure will be able to cater for your needs, you will probably only have to wait for the right breeding to occur.

Firebrand kennel dogs will most probably not be suitable for your needs, although they carry all the traits you are after, they can be extremely dominant and quite a handful at times. They also are very large, 44kg males on average not for the first time mal owner.

    Hope this helps

    Ben

I would add Amanda Russells dogs as well. With the Kollenbergs stuff, Zico was quite a handful and his pups were a little different sometimes. They could be slow matures not really showing much until about 10 months. They can have some aggression as well.
As with Dannys stuff, Arras pups should be fine for what you want, but just be aware that some of Danny's older stuff could throw the odd psycho.
The rule generally is dogs with alot of Elgos are easier dogs.

    Thanks guys,

These are the breeders I am currently looking at

Won't be for a while yet. Next dog likely to be another Kelpie, want to get my handling up to scratch first before I try a Malinois and Schutzhund.
