leerburg i think that how its spelt do a lot of k9 training dvds find his site and have a look ive been told by a couple of trainers there stuff is very informative
as you all know i'm VERY new to this and as i'm taking my training serious i need to be able to understand it mentally to be able to pertrude it physically with my dogs.
if you know of you tube footage or vids please let me know i'll be interested in viewing this
i am wondering if someone can take the tiem to explain to me the fine lines OF
when a dogs turns from offence to defence ( what are some of the bodily behaviours to observe)
also from fear to aggression... and when it becomes no longer fear.
how is aggression AND defence defined?
mark mentioned flight.. when can u tell a dog will get into flight mode and how to stop b4 that happens
i'm sorry if i'm asking ridiculous questions but i really woud like to learn as much as i can.. not saying that i'm into some training that i ask about.. but i like to know the good bad and the ugly so that i can be careful in areas that one must and also work on the positives.
i am going to the k9 force seminar if i can get tickets but i'm also planning to go to canberra after that to train with a security company and see how they do their training for a while.
on this not does anyone know where you can buy dvd's or something that show visually ot make this mind of mine work a little easier.

"Cave Canem"
thanks sweeite... i'll go dig back there..
An excellent book which explains all drives....prey, defense and fight drive, and also explains canine communication very well is "Decoys and Agression - A Police K9 Training Manuel" by Stephen A. Mackkenzie. It details types of canine agression i.e territorial, pain induced, fear induced etc.Originally Posted by vomblaksta
