check this out ausc is competing against coppers in agility, protection and obedience

they have been a hand full of trianers and sec handler trying to do work with vicpol for a few years and got no were

so good on em hope ausc show the coppers up ( not to bad though)

l reckon it would depend a fair bit on the rules, as they are like comparing apples and oranges in the way the dogs work in the protection / apprehension part anyway, and to some degree in obedience.

I agree 100% with Tony.

I dont see the point in doing this myself. There are going to be extreme limitations in what will be able to be done...could you imagine a NSW Police Dog Squad decoy going against a Schutzhund trained dog.

I believe this is a major development within the Australian Working Dog Industry where professional dedicated trainers and handlers come together. I was a spectator at the last one in Sydney and It was a great event.

Did this event go ahead? If so who won and how did the dogs preform?

I think the cop dogs would be better suited to compete against the K9 prosports as this would be a bit more of a level playing field......something to look at in the future Tony

I think this is a great idea as it is good publicity for civilian working dogs and with the problems in victoria, this can only work to our benefit, i.e if we can get the cops to admit our dogs are not dangerous then the goverment might listen to us.
