Absolutely true, controversy is a very appealing trait whether it be positive or negative it gets people to read,look,think.........

If people did nothing and said nothing we would have nothing to have in our lives, some people just say it to a larger audience and all the more better if they are the right audience..

Hugh wirth will have his time in the spotlight one day as the moron he truly is.

He is scared of what he doesn't understand....

Hi Mark, Hugh Wirth should be sacked from his position for being both incompetent and irresposible in the position that he holds. I would gladly sign any petition to get him removed and would encourage everyone out there in the dog comunity to do the same.
    Cheers

The QLD RPSCA branch is fantastic. I might disagree with a few things but overall I support them. I support a lot of what the RSPCA stands for and fights for.

The QLD RSPCA is moving away from BSL. The national president doesn't support it.

Once Hugh is gone I think the organisation will go back to being a reasonably reputable group. Though, since I agree with a lot of what they have fought for (heavy restrictions on debarking, banning tail docking ect) then my view is slightly different.

I do oppose any movement to restrict our training aids but since this has really only been limited to Victoria I assume Hugh Wirth/VIC RSPCA is responsible and the national body has no real desire to see the prong and e-collars banned. I'm never going to agree with everything they do though.

ETA: The only problem is you CAN'T ignore Hugh. He has an opinion on everything and anything. He makes sure everyone knows it and doesn't care if it's based on fact or not.

Sorry but the Qld RSPCA is corrupt and an investigations into the running of the organization has been called for from many people for many years. It is commonly known many of their inspectors are sacked ex-policemen with no animal knowledge and the directors on the board are also the owners of the legal firm who is contracted to take on most of their court cases............at a cost of up to 10 times the fee charged by normal solicitors!!!!

Many drought stricken farmers have been ruined by court costs of hundreds of thousands of dollars and in some cases all their stock were put down when hardly anything was wrong with them........in one case elite stud animals were shot, completely wiping out generations of family genetics that could not be replaced. The owner was also meant to pay over $300 000 in court costs!! So much for caring for all creatures’ great and small!!!!!!! The RSPCA is always ready to put down animals instead of helping them!! The NSW RSPCA has also had similar situations occur with stock being put down when they could have been helped and huge court costs being applied. Victoria has Hugh Worthless and all his stupid dog laws but please note he is now on the NATIONAL board as an expert advisor........that means all his lies and fallacy could be introduced AUSTRALIA wide!!!!!

I personally believe we need to not only get rid of Mr Worthless but we also need to replace the entire RSPCA with another organization that is much more caring, knowledgeable and animal orientated to implement the laws on behalf of the government!!!!.........It is easy to say you like what the RSPCA does for animals………..it gives all animal lovers a warm fussy feeling to help care for animals……… but spend a few hours doing a google on the RSPCA corruption in Australia and you will be very enlightened to what the organization really does get up to!!!!!

I know this is an old thread but thought I would revive it.I agree wholeheartedly with everything you have said Mark.hugh Wirth was dumped as National President becuase of the damage to RSPCA coffers over many years becuase of BSL.As more people became aware of BSL and stopped giving funds it has hurt them.Programs like RSPCA recue are nothing mroe than propaganda designed to win back the hearts and minds of the mums and dads in suburbia.I do think the volounteers do a good job but the RSPCA has become an out of control monster. They need to be put back in their box.Hugh Wirth needs to be stood down as RSPCA Vicotria President for which he has been for nearly 40 years. He also sits on the board of the Australian Animal Welfare Advisory committee and the NCCAW both of which report to the Minister for Agriculture and advise him on matters of animal welfare. It is to this end he has played a role in the last breed of dog being added to the import ban list.
My own vet is an old fella been around for a long time and states that Hugh Wirth is a dinosaur out of touch with aniaml welfare issues. He hasnt had any hands on experience ofr at least 20 years yet he pulls the strings. He is attention whore who thrives on the limelight and has no experience in the real dog world. He has to go if they want to move forward.he has done irepairable damage both to their organisation and to the Australian dog owning public.Hugh Wirth you have been voted of the island.
