    Fully trained. No such thing.

Trained in a specific task to the best of the trainer/handler ability. Highly trained. There is nothing else to say which is not already written here lol.

A "fully trained dog", also suggests the dog is SUPERMAN! Even he suffers the achilles heel of Cryptonite.

    Silly, silly term....

I would like to add my four cents.

I don't know enough to add five.

In every dog in every breed one can pick faults or holes however you want to put it. There is No such thing as a perfect dog.

At the end of the day they are only flesh and blood and they to have of days and make mistakes. Some are good at certain things and not good at others.

I have heard to often form trainers and owners "if i could have the drive from this dog and the build of that dog it would be perfect" but knowing these people i still know that they would find something else to complain about.

Just a food for thought when some of you pick on other people's dogs bare it in mind that yours is also not perfect, and holes can be found in every dog.

Good point re other people's dogs - perhaps the forum should have a rule that you cant make comment on another persons dog unless you post footage of your own for critique.

IMO opinion there are too many people ready to critique from behind their computer screens but never put it on the line - a lot of tailgates dropping but nothing coming out!!!!

    Cheers

Agree Laurie, i don't actually understand that expression, it is an odd one. RE footage hmm would be nice in theory but for the info gathering crew i dare say for unlicensed folks that could cause "issues".....That is of course presuming it was viewable to all....

Not sure I agree with that Laurie - Some have years of experience in the working dog industry, but don't necessarily have a dog in training right now..or like myself don't train much in this field anymore.

I feel everyone has a right to an opnion (expert, knowledageble or amateur).. Whether the person(s) accept it or not is a different story. People need to just let go of egos sometimes, and just see critiques as anothers opnion and thats all... I get sick of people feeling they are being attacked because a person may critque a dog differently to someone else. If people can't handle honest criticisim, then don't put your dog out there.

You don't have to agree with everyones opnion...Everyone has their own.

I can't believe how some people react when they don't hear what they feel they should hear.. and go off crying like little babies... We are all adults, surely we can act that way?

    Laurie has a great point.
I don't think that there is any point in posting vid (if legally able to put vid out there in first place) but I think that if you do then you have to realise that you are inviting opinion....some will be more informed, some will be less informed, but I think that anyone who puts their dog on here has some real nuts and also needs to have the hide of a rhinoceros!
Mark, at least you have a body of experience and understanding to filter what you see through and produce an opinion.
That is not saying anything about anyone else mate, but it would certainly be something I would consider about any person that would offer me critisism.
There sure does seem to be a lot of cases on here where people read one thing and make it mean something else...after all, human beings are meaning making machines!
Personally I hope that anything I write is taken as I express it, in the simplest terms, and at face value. I would be happy to be judged on my posts as I write them, and if I express myself poorly then my ego does not preclude me from conceeding a fair point made and correcting myself accordingly.
Curious though Adam, Im not aware of anybody critisising anybody elses dog in their posts on this thread...am I wrong?
Also re vid posting, many people here in Victoria may not feel comfortable posting footage of their dogs for a variety of reasons. I would urge others understand their position.

Re: "FULLY TRAINED"...what is your perspective?

I agree..Victorians shouldn't post videos (unless licensed). I am sure this site by now is monitored. Video evidence is all a government body, or angry citizen needs.

Brad, even if someone has years of experience and knowledge, some people still feel like they are being attacked if that person doesn't agree with how they (or others) see their dog, even if NOT putting their dog down.

If you know in your own heart you can't handle honest and open criticism, and can't accept that not everyone will agree.. then don't post a vid..simple as that. If that person then criticises someone elses dog..then just accept it as "one" persons opnion, you don't have to agree with it....just ignore it if you want. I am sure with the differeing opnions on this ste, someone will agree with you...

Fair point Mark, but I also think that people need to take responsiblity for expressing themselves in a constructive way when offering criticism.
It does little to promote further understanding or community IF the criticism brings with it a clearly expressed personal aspect.
It also does nobody a service to take personal criticism from a clearly objective critique or observation.
    Perception, perception, perception.
