    Working Malinois Breeder

Talking about breeders of Malinois; before I was lucky enough to find Schwarchund Malinois, I had found another breeder who I thought would be able to provide me with a good working pup. I had arranged and actually paid for the pup and when I went to collect it (which was a four hour round trip), this breeder (who shall remain nameless) decided to move the goal posts and stipulate conditions which were never mentioned originally (before my money was taken). I decided to withdraw from the sale, and feel that I was fortunate to have had a lucky escape. I wasn’t impressed at all with the kennelling arrangements the breeder had, and the dogs I did manage to see appeared nervy and undernourished.

As stated, I was lucky to have found Danny Jagodic, and the little female I have from him (incidentally she’s 4cm taller than the breed standard, and still growing) is confident, full of drive, shows no fear in different situations, and at just 13 months does a 40 minute old track which has a number of legs (5 – 9) indicates on all articles (metal, wood, plastic and cloth) and includes hard surface, has a full strong bite/grip for her age (biceps, triceps and leg, front and rear), does a good send away, property square, and retrieve. Her heelwork (free and leashed) is excellent, and she’s at a good standard on distance control (sit, stand and down). Her long down ‘out of sight’ is 30 minutes, and her recall is faultless.

I have no doubt that Schwarchund Malinois is the best working Malinois breeder in Australia. The testimonials Danny has speak for themselves, as does the number of his dogs in the services.

Peter, that is good news on the progress of your female.
Doing very well at her tender age.
Good also to see some appreciation of a breeder that has done the right thing.
A cautionary note also to new working pup seekers to be aware of traps and to remember it is your money so make sure you are satisfied with what is going on before taking the pup. Peter read the signs , and ended up with what he wanted. l hope we see her around the traps someday Peter, good work so far for sure.

    Hi Peter,
I have met Danny and seen his dogs working at seminars. They are indeed a pleasure to watch. Danny takes his dogs and there training very seriously.
The quality of his dogs, is extremely high from what I have seen. I have also heard good reports from other dog people at the seminars.
There are other good breeders out there also with some really good dogs. However if I was looking for a Mal. Danny would be very high on my list.
Your Bitch sounds like she is doing great for her age and really for any age.
Malinois are a good choice for a working breed but like all breeds there are good and bad. Danny from what I have seen and heard seems to be doing his best to make sure that he delivers the best.
Good luck for you and your girl in the future.

    Many thanks Tony & Jeff

One often forgets the breeder when having success with your dog, but without the right material to start with the job of getting to a reasonable level would be so much harder. Danny has helped me enormously as this is my first Malinois; his advice and knowledge has made my job so much easier and given me a good insight into what to expect. Apart from one Rottie, all of my working dogs have been GSDs, and the difference in raising a Malinois pup is considerable. Without Danny’s help and advice there are times when I would have been concerned; the level of drive in a working Mal is awesome, their batteries never seem to run out; they revel in work and action, and the more the better as far as they are concerned, at least that’s how it is with Danny’s dogs. Danny is now a personal friend, his devotion to the working Malinois (especially KNPV lines) is a joy to behold.

    Hi all,
I also bought my first Malinois from Danny and can not fault him. I have found him to be a true gentlemen with a lot of knowledge and time to help with various issues I encountered.
His Imports come from a well known great KNPV trainer and decoy in Holland who has an unsurpassed passion for Malinois, (have stayed with him during a trip to Holland).
I recommend dannys dogs to all who require a working dog.

Danny Jagodic produces the best mals i have ever seen in the flesh or on video. Dave Mills of integraguard kennels uses his lines, and Dave's focus is on using an amazing male of Danny's breeding....I could not imagine using a better malinois male as a stud.
He is 42kg, super thick nerved, rock solid in every way, amazing grip, very civil, highly trainable, and just incredible in every way. i would own him without hesitation.
ive worked the dog at euro joes seminar and have not stopped raving about him since...hes the business, no doubt.
