    [=Amy Pattison;16152]Great pic's Craig LOL!

    Slightly off topic,
"It doesn't take anyone of great intelligence or experience to understand that this golden era of mals will eventually come to a grinding halt - just as soon as they become of some aesthetic value to someone the trend will start - people cant help themselves but to want to piss fart around with their conformation at the expense of temperament, the volume of litters will as it is doing increase and we know that all specimens are not breed worthy, but they will be bred from and the quality will diminish....and then we'll all be talking about the days when they used to be good!"

    Laurie, Really Good post!.......
One thing it left out though is, "working" people also breed mindless amounts and no temperament testing or socialisation or thought to BREED conformation is given.....Now that makes it EXTREMELY difficult in certain breeds to determine where the quality really lies.....[/]

"Mindless" breedings in working lines often come from too much importance placed on the stud and some working breeders don't really know what their bitch brings to the table. Many have never trained or worked their bitch and apart from a bit of puppy play, she's never had a bite or any constructive work analysis, so I don't get how the right stud can be selected for a bitch that has never been properly evaluated???. I like Schutzhund as a pre-requisite to breeding to actually see some bitches work and keep a mental picture of where the traits are heading. Conformation is important, not show winners, but general compliance to the breed standards should never be overlooked I don't think either.

    Cheers
    Nev

I have a saying “Life is too short to be stuck with a bad dog”. In regard to which breed is better, I see it as all being in a state of flux that can never be measured. Quite often all of us in the dog community will talk about that one particular dog as an excellent dog , that does not mean you will find all of that breed as good ( some might be better). Sniper obviously has proven to be an excellent dog does that mean that all Mali’s are the same? Quite a few people like my dog Rakker , however I would like it, it does not mean that all Dutchies are like him. Sam e with Rotties and GSD’s. There was one other..... Dobermans almost forgot. Obviously I will offend some breeders as I will have not mentioned their breed.

Is there anyone in Australia or indeed the world that can perhaps say that one breed is better than the other? How could they with the dogs evolving at such a rapid rate it is hard to say. However – for me there are certain things I see in my current breed of choice that I like and others I suppose are the same. I think that is where the argument starts about which is better. I do not want to kill the argument but it can never be won.

    Hi all
Credit where credit is due. Neville have heard about Diesel and have been told hes a good dog (havent seen him though).
Was only kidding with my previous remark.
Lets get to the reality of it all................
grant got on this forum and made a statement about my dog. Craig wanted to see the dog for himself to make his own judgement.
I have alot of respect for a lot of the people on this forum and absolutely none for some of the others.
I still dont go around bagging peoples dogs.
I commend Craig for standing up and working Sniper. He told everyone he will post his opinion and he has done so.
I myself have made a new friend and hope to catch up with him again soon.

    regards
    George
p.s Video of craig and the dog to be posted soon

    Craig,
well I am glad I did not have to eat my words,
I am also glad it was a great experience for you.
You should take my offer up and come down south, and work some dogs,
I think you will be quite surprised in the quality of working dogs down south of all different breeds. It would be quite an experience for you.
We can't use girlie ring sport suits down here, we have to use Kimono suits on the real dogs. You worked 2 dogs , try working a dozen dogs of Snipers calibre in a ring sport suit, day after day.
I got to say I have to agree with Lauries, Amy's and Nevs posts. They could not be any closer to the truth if they tried. Well said.
Come on guys what is it with Neville get off his back .

    regards

    Rob
