I would focus on getting him on the right track. Rather than getting money back from that lot.
Try a few trainers from this site ask them to send you a PM
Sorry this has happened to you, but as you can see plenty of people have had a similar experience from these trainers.
Vendo.
------ TALK IS CHEAP.... SHOW US YOUR DOG.
Mark, your injuries look horrific. I wish you a speedy recovery, a pain free one too i hope!
Im curious though...
you knew this dog had issues. Why you think you could lean across (ergo lower/closer/invading its space) and take the lead? in more ways than one.
I admire your bravery. But your risk assessment surely was a tad off here.
Hi Bernie.. I didn't know the dogs issues were that bad.. As I said previously.. I met this dog a few months earlier and socialised with the dog.. Not an issue in the world.. I played with him and threw his ball.. He was a very well balanced dog. When I booked the appointment with the lady..it was because she said that the dog had growled at a few of her friends. When she came out.. I asseseed the dog.. I saw nothing to indicate any aggressive tendancies which could result from stress, insecurity or dominance. As I said, this dog was sitting quietly beside me..right next to me. This dog caught me totally by suprise.. I wasn't expecting it.. It was a flash of lightening.. This dog didn't show aggressive behaviour..just an automatic response to my arm movement. I still feel I have not been told the entire story about the training this dog had undergone since I saw him previously. His response to my arm movement seemed like a trained response to me... Much like the Bark & Hold. Where the dog instinctively takes the bite when there is quick arm movement. I have had a lot of time to reflect over this incident.. I firmly believe the dogs reaction was a learned response. that I didn't know had been trained into the dog before the bite incident. If I had have known..yes certainly I would have done things differently.
I feel people did their best to cover their arses when I published this incident.. So I was getting conflicting stories on the training this dog was getting.. But only found out after the incident.
Some here will say well he is a Mal what do you expect? .. I don't expect that from a Mal that hasn't had any training to react that way..... People can critique me all they want, and tell me I was wrong or an idiot..Thoase people weren't there.. I was.
LOL.. wound healed up ok..nice scare to show off..lol ...Just dead nerves around the bite.. other than that fine![]()

[=John Evans;13802] It seems strange to me that somebody would try to condition a dog OUT OF aggressive behaviour in a bite-suit.[/]
That was my first thought!
That 'technique' raises more questions than it answers.
Hmmm...
