All up he's about 75% ready. His obedience is mostly done and its now just proofing in different places, with different objects etc. His jumps are 100%, his food refusal is 100%, his healing with and without muzzel is 100%. His retrieving is around 90% as is his searching. His bitework is around 70% done. His grip is excellent, his attacks are as good as they get. His nerves are the best I have seen in a dog, so it doesnt matter what distractions are thrown at him he doesnt worry about them. His outs are pretty good, but it took along time to get him to out. His recall after outing is pretty good now. He seems to be around 90% reliable with them.
His main issues at the moment are his control in obedience with a decoy teasing him and his stop attack. In NVBK they want a dog to get within 1 meter of an attack before you call them back, so its pretty hard to convince the dog when he is in full flight and just about ready to jump into the decoy to stop that attack and to come back to his handler for a tug. In Belgium they will use things such as electric suits, which we dont have access to, so we are just doing it slowley with shortning of distance and ecollar work.
The other issue is that while he maybe close to ready, you need around 5 people ready at the same time to vindicate a trial, so thats the biggest hurdle at the moment. He will most likely be around 5 years of age before we get to trial. But heres hoping.
Heres another clip we did just to see what he would be like indoors on a slippery, wet tiled floor. Training towards this has really made me appreciate just how much work these NVBK guys, and other sports like FR, KNPV etc, put into their dogs.

Looks fantastic Chris to my untrained eye LOL keep up the awesome work and let us all know when you manage to get a trial together. I will be over there for that one![]()

good work Chris,
That is a level of proofing and environmental stability that is both genetic, and environmental. What a great little dog, with what appears to be some great training and a hell of a lot of time put into him.
