6 month old dislikes dark skinned people

Lately I have noticed more and more agressive behaviour from my 6 month old - directed at darker skinned people (mainly Indian).

Normally when I am walking him at night he will bark at anyone who is comes near us but will stop when I tell him that is enough ... but he is full on when the person is darker skinned.

I initally though it was because it was night and they may have been a little harder for him to see ... but this morning he went nuts at an Indian woman waiting at the bus stop - but ignored the lighter coloured couple standing a short distance away.

His breeder was a darker skinned person ... and I think it might have something to do with that.

Any suggestions on dealing with this issue?

I'm not an expert but Indians have a smell of their own, same as Australian Natives. Maybe you need to educate your dog as to they are the same as everyone else. Not sure what you do with your dog.
If you let it go, it will grow and that is when it is harder to fix.

Do you have indian friends or ask friends if they know someone. Sit in the same room, or play at the park, again not sure what you do with your dog.

Show the dog it is okay, don't let it grow. You want a focused dog and if you don't fix it, it will focus on indians rather than what you are wanting.

Show your dog they are okay.
Also make sure you have no neighbours that are causing the problem.

Other might have other ideas but this is mine.

I thought about that but my Indian friends (all 2 of them) are muslim and believe dogs are dirty and won't have anything to do with them.

I might talk to the Sudanese family down the road and see if they will help ...

    Hi
maybe his breeder did something to him when he was young that has stuck with him.
Could be an element of fear involved by the sound of it.
He has to be shown that barking at people for no reason regardless of skin color is unacceptable....
Especially when just going for a walk.
Is he a social outgoing pup usually? Some dogs react to the different scent of certain races.
In Holland I witnessed a malinois that singled out Moroccan and darker skinned people, any other race he was friendly with but darker skin races he would single out and bite.
the question is are some dogs racist??????

    regards
    George

Perhaps this pup has not been exposed to enough varying people.Like people with all colour skin, scents can be varying with lighter skin, depends what they are cooking too. Many nationalities scent may be different however with enough exposure to a wide amount of people I don't know how this would be the issue.

Alcohol is a huge trigger for many dogs, had they been drinking I wonder........

    Cheers

Then again some people don't believe in over exposing puppies and they have no problems, so it is hard to gage given I don't know the environmental factors, training etc of the dog in question.
